Application of waterproofing for water reservoirs
Surface preparation
Care must be taken to ensure that the application area is durable, dry, clean, dust-free and suitable for the next steps. The surface must be free of all oil, rust, thick lubricating oil and paraffin residues that will weaken the adhesion, the surface must be free of debris and the surface must be saturated with moisture. Excess iron debris and wood chips must be removed and any gaps must be repaired on the surface two days in advance with a suitable TAMCRETE® repair material. Active water leaks should be sealed with TAMCRETE® CRM RAPID instant curing repair material. The surface should be primed with UNIVERSAL ASTAR to reduce its absorbency and provide a healthy adhesion surface. The materials should not apply in areas that are frozen, thawing or at risk of freezing within 24 hours.
Application of water insulation
In the application of waterproofing under ceramic tiles in water reservoirs; cement-based two-component waterproofing material IZOMAX® C70 UV, suitable for potable water reservoirs, should be applied. Weak parts of floor, wall and corner joint lines should be reinforced with IZOMAX® PAH BANDs. Exact middle of the chamfer bands should be placed on the coinciding lines of the different surfaces which were primed with water insulation product that was applied by a brush or a roller. Each layer is applied in the opposite direction of one another. Depending on the temperature of the environment, the next layer should be applied after waiting 5-6 hours. After application, it should be allowed to dry completely for at least 7 days and leak tests should be carried out for 24 hours.
