PRATIX® RM 75
PRATIX® RM 75 is a lightweight woven glass-fibre mesh with an alkali-resistant polymer coating and a mass per unit area of 75 g/m². It is embedded in gypsum- and cement-based renders, as well as in bitumen-based and two-component cement-based waterproofing materials.
Its light, thin structure makes it suitable for thin-layer applications. It must not be used as the reinforcing mesh in external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS), as it does not provide the impact resistance the system requires; THERMOMAX® RM 160 must be used in these applications.
Fields of Application
• Prevention of cracking in gypsum- and cement-based renders, indoors and outdoors
• Reinforcement of render at junctions between different materials, such as concrete – masonry, column – wall and beam – wall
• In renders over service chases, closed-up openings and repaired areas
• As a reinforcing layer in two-component cement-based waterproofing materials
• As a reinforcing layer in bitumen-based waterproofing coatings
• Reinforcement of detail points in waterproofing, such as internal and external corners, fillets and pipe penetrations
Advantages
• Its light, thin structure allows it to be used in thin-layer renders and coatings without increasing layer thickness
• Its alkali-resistant coating ensures it does not lose strength over time in cement-based materials
• Reinforces the layer in which it is embedded, distributes stresses caused by shrinkage and thermal movement, and prevents hairline cracking
• Flexible structure adapts easily to corners, fillets and returns; easy to cut and lay
• Does not rot; resistant to weathering
