Application of internal (negative) waterproofing

Wet and humid basement floors reduce the life and value of the building because they are not used as living space. To waterproof the underground parts of the building during the construction of the building is the most correct step. If it is not insulated from the outside, waterproofing from the inside is also an option.

Surface preparation

Care must be taken to ensure that the application area is durable, dry, clean, dust-free and suitable for the next steps. The surface must be free of all oil, rust, thick lubricating oil and paraffin residues that will weaken the adhesion, the surface must be free of debris saturated with moisture. Excess iron debris and wood chips must be removed and and if there are active water leaks, the surface must be repaired with an instant curing TAMCRETE® repair material. Gaps between 5mm and 20mm deep must be repaired two days in advance with a suitable TAMCRETE® repair material. The surface to be applied should be wetted with water before application, but creating a water puddle must be avoided.

Application of water insulation

IZOMAX® C60 N two-component waterproofing product is applied to the concrete surface with a brush or roller. The finished product can be applied in 2 or 3 layers to the pre-moistened surface. The previous layer is expected to dry before applying each layer. Each layer should be applied in the opposite direction of each other. The next layer should be applied after waiting 5-6 hours depending on the temperature of the surroundings. After drying, the surface should be allowed to dry completely for at least 7 days and leak tests should be carried out within 24 hours. After the application of waterproofing, the entire surface should be plastered with a thin plaster layer to prepare the surface or to prepare it for further application.
