Application of bitumen-based waterproofing on terraces

Surface preparation
Care must be taken to ensure that the application area is healthy, dry, clean, dust-free and transportable. The surface must be free of all oil, rust, solid lubricating oil and paraffin residues, which will weaken the adhesion, and the surface must be free of debris. Do not apply to areas that are frozen, thawing, or in danger of freezing within 24 hours. Surface excess iron and wood pieces have been removed and active water leaks, if any, must be sealed with TAMCRETE® CRM Rapid instant curing repair material. Gaps between 5 to 20 mm deep should be repaired two days in advance with a suitable TAMCRETE® repair material.

Application of waterproofing
For roofs and terraces, two-component IZOMAX® B 752 Roof, a two-component low-viscosity, fully elastic waterproofing material with a specially produced polymer-modified rubber and a special cement-based two-component, should be applied. First, component B of IZOMAX® B 752 Roof should be well mixed with water in a ratio of 1:5 and used as a primer. Then the prepared primer solution should be applied with a suitable brush, taking care not to collect the material on the surface on horizontal surfaces. The primer should be allowed to dry (2-12 hours) and after complete drying, the first layer of IZOMAX® B 752 Roof should be applied.
IZOMAX® B 752 Roof material should be applied to the prepared surface in at least 2 coats by brush, trowel or spray equipment. Weakness in floor, wall and corner joint lines in the application area should be reinforced with IZOMAX® PAH BAND. The first layer should be placed on top of the waterproofing product applied by brush or roller, so that the exact middle of the chamfer band coincides with the joint line of the surfaces. Before applying the second layer, wait for the first layer to dry completely. Both layers should be drawn in vertical-horizontal directions.
After IZOMAX® B 752 Roof is completely dry, it must be covered with THERMOMAX® EPS boards to protect the insulation and then sealed with a protective concrete layer.
