External waterproofing application in foundation curtain walls

Surface preparation

Care must be taken to ensure that the application area is durable, dry, clean, dust-free and suitable for the next steps. The surface must be free of all oil, rust, thick lubricating oil and paraffin residues that will weaken the adhesion, the surface must be free of debris and the surface must be saturated with moisture. A thin layer of cement syrup on the surface should be scraped off, and very smooth surfaces should be lightly roughened. Gaps between 5mm and 20mm deep must be repaired two days in advance with a suitable TAMCRETE® repair material. The surface to be applied should be wetted with water before application, but creating a water puddle must be avoided. Each layer should be applied in the opposite direction of each other. The next layer should be applied after waiting 5-6 hours depending on the temperature of the surroundings.

Application of waterproofing

Two layers of IZOMAX® B772 with two-component polymer modification, bitumen-rubber and special cement-based low viscosity should be applied as a waterproofing layer in the foundation curtain walls in accordance with the technical instructions.

Protection of the waterproofing layer

The polymer-modified, bitumen-rubber-based waterproofing layer should not be filled with soil before it is completely dry. Before filling the soil, THERMOMAX® thermal insulation boards should be used to protect the waterproofing layer from mechanical effects and sharp objects that may be inside the soil.
